The University of the Underground is a free, pluralistic and transnational university and charity committed to bringing together diverse creative people of different ages and backgrounds. The organisation aims to democratise access to public institutions, encourage experiential and multidisciplinary practice and critical reflection, and create a global network of like-minded collaborations. The content focuses on political theory, philosophy, music, theatre, social action and social dreaming. The programme is financed by a scholarship, lasts two years and ends with a Master Design of Experiences. The application is open to all interested people worldwide. The organisation's network consists of numerous international thinkers, philosophers, activists, politicians, innovative companies, creatives and curators.
Provide people with the tools they need to recognise and change institutional power structures. Develop a worldwide network of cooperating schools and institutions that contribute to the visibility and strengthening of countercultures.
Educational programmes in cooperation with, among others, the Hannah Arendt Center of Bard College, the United Nations, Cairo and Georgia.
Founding of the High School of the Underground (ages 12-18) to engage youth in the programmes.
